History

MPS-TV began broadcasting on channel 17 on March 17, 2003 and moved to channel 98 on December 1, 2009. The partnership between the Midland Public Schools, the City of Midland, and Charter Communications is the response to a series of community surveys indicating strong support for an educational cable television channel. Thanks to the support of the City Council and Charter Communications, startup costs were funded through the franchise fees that Charter pays to the City of Midland.
